Aaron Schwartz, the executive director of Demand Progress, a co-founder of Reddit, was arrested and charged with violating federal hacking laws for downloading 4 million documents from JSTOR from MIT's network. If convicted of the felony charges, Schwartz will face up to 35 years in prison, and a 1 million dollar fine. Is he guilty, or just a casualty of the open access war.

Anonymous sent out notices through their twitter pages that something big was coming, a preview of what is now being called Military Meltdown Monday. Booz Allen Hamilton, a government contractor company was hacked by Anonymous, and just today a massive data supply of military information has been released. The Pentagon is waiting for any incriminating evidence to appear from the hacktivist's latest project.

We now have more proof of the government making moves to try and stop the hacktivist group Anonymous here in the US. Yesterday the US justice department and the FBI arrested 14 people who they believe are members of Anonymous, AND are tied to the cyber attack of PayPal's website.

British politician and the leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) Nigel Farage has slammed EU bosses over European crisis. "It's even more serious than economics because if you rob people of their identity, if you rob them of their democracy, then all they are left with is nationalism and violence. I can only hope and pray that the Euro project is destroyed by the markets before that" - Farage said at the end of his speech.
